Alexandria Zoo is one of only three Association of Zoos and Aquariums accredited institutions in Louisiana. We’re proud of our hometown zoo and for the past two years we’ve provided recycling services at the zoo’s maintenance facility as part of the “Cardboard for Critters” permanent recycling campaign.
Together with the Friends of the Alexandria Zoo (FOTAZ), Hometown Recycling has made Alexandria Zoo a drop off location for cardboard recycling in our community.
Individuals can collect their cardboard and drop it off in the designated sky-blue “Cardboard for Critters” containers located next to the Zoo behind Bringhurst Baseball Field. Hometown Recycling will service the containers weekly and contribute the proceeds from the sale of the cardboard to the Friends of the Alexandria Zoo (FOTAZ). Recycling is for clean cardboard only; please do not place other items in the containers.
All proceeds from this campaign support FOTAZ conservation efforts at the Alexandria Zoo.
