About Us

Who we are

In 2004, the operations of Hometown Waste began in Alexandria.  In 2017, we changed our name to more concisely reflect our mission: to be the hometown provider of essential waste and recycling services throughout Central Louisiana.  Since then, we’ve become the dominant route-based cardboard recycler in the region and our operations process a majority of the secure document shredding material in our 11 parish region.

We operate routes extending from Alexandria west to Leesville, east to Jonesville and south to Simmesport.  We have three facilities in the region and provide our processed cardboard and shredded white paper to internationally recognized mills based right here in Louisiana.

We’re dedicated to the sustainability of the environment, our customers and our deep Louisiana heritage. The cornerstone of our mission is to protect and nurture Central Louisiana’s natural resources while reducing our impact on the environment by “Harvesting the Urban Forest.”  In doing so, we seek to help our customers meet their environmental goals and, ultimately, attain Zero Waste.

Hometown’s Recycling division works with communities and businesses throughout Central Louisiana to maximize their recyclable’s diversion from the landfill.  This historic division has operated in the 11 parishes of Central Louisiana for 22 years and has an operational footprint that stretches from the Toledo Bend Reservoir east to the Mississippi River.

Hometown Recycling works with businesses and communities across Central Louisiana to help divert more than three million pounds of materials away from its landfills every year. Together with Hometown Waste Services, we are the only provider in Central Louisiana that offers fully integrated waste solutions that include conventional waste streams, corrugated (cardboard) and white paper (SOP) services.  In addition, we partner with communities and businesses throughout Central Louisiana to maximize their sustainability goals.

Experience and Personnel

Hometown Waste is managed by David Fuselier, who has deep experience in the waste industry.  He previously operated the second largest wood waste facility in the Northeast, two landfills and two route based operations (one in New York and one Philadelphia).  His career has permitted him to develop strong relationship with the largest waste haulers in North America and the smallest, best customers in Cenla.

Charlie Klein is the company’s Chief Financial Officer and has been a licensed CPA and manager of companies for over 30 years.  David and Charlie have worked together for over ten years.

Our drivers are the backbone of our daily operations.  Some have been with Hometown for over 15 years and others have transferred into our team with their deep waste experience.  Hometown has an immaculate safety record and believes in continuously improving its safety and maintenance protocols.
